Font Licenses
Cursivio uses open-licence fonts only. The sample letters are set in Playwrite US Trad, the interface in Nunito, and the site icon letter in Pacifico. All three are released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows free use, including on websites and in printed sheets.
Fonts used on Cursivio
| Font | Where it is used | Licence | Official source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Playwrite US Trad | Sample cursive letters, charts and tracing lines | SIL Open Font License 1.1 | Google Fonts, “Playwrite US Trad” |
| Nunito | Page text, menus and buttons | SIL Open Font License 1.1 | Google Fonts, “Nunito” |
| Pacifico | The letter on the site icon only | SIL Open Font License 1.1 | Google Fonts, “Pacifico” |
What the licence lets you do
The SIL Open Font License lets anyone use, study, copy and share these fonts, including in commercial work. The fonts may not be sold on their own, and a modified font may not keep the original name. Cursivio does not sell or repackage any font.
The cursive text generator is not a font
The generator does not install or serve a font. It swaps ordinary letters for Unicode characters that look like script, such as the mathematical script and bold script letters. Those characters are part of the Unicode standard and are drawn by the font on the reader’s device, so they look different from one device to the next.
FAQ
Can I use these fonts in my own project?
Yes, the licence allows it. Download each font from its official source and keep its licence text with it.
Does Cursivio host commercial fonts?
No. We only use fonts with an open licence and we name every one on this page.
How do I report a licensing problem?
Tell us through the contact page with the page address and the font name, and we will review it promptly.
